Many people think of our times as being the last before the end of the world. The evidence of horror all around us makes this seem possible. But isn't that an idea of only minor importance? Doesn't every human being, no matter which era he lives in, always have to reckon with being accountable to God at any moment? Can I know whether I'll be alive tomorrow morning? A bomb could destroy all of us tonight. And then my guilt would not be one bit less than if I perished together with the arth and the stars. – Sophie Scholl
In
loving memory of German Christian Martyr, Sophie Scholl,
I will post two prayers about the End Times, one from Julia Shalom Jordan and
the other from Mark and Jill Herringshaw.

“Dear
Heavenly Father,
In Mark
3:24, your word says that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.
Sadly, by
the obvious lack of power in the Christian churches today we are seeing the
evidence of this truth.
Lord, if
we are to take dominion over the oppressive strongholds that are holding our
lives and our community back, we must start with our churches.
In the
name of Jesus I break all agreements with hell over my life, my family’s life
and our church community.
I fully
renounce all ungodly oaths that my ancestors or I have made to any idols, false
religions and ideologies, unholy organizations demonic entities and religious
spirits in Jesus’ name.
I command
that the root of every false prophet, ministry and worship to be rendered
rotten and fruitless. I remove you from your position and I cast you
down.
In the
name of Jesus, I command the angels in heaven to sing the name of Jehovah with
such force that it breaks the sound barrier of every demonic worship and creed
being spoken or sung in the atmosphere.
Lord,
purge all the places that need to be cleansed. As the corruption and wickedness
becomes exposed, draw every searching heart closer to you. Help their
hearts to not give up on searching for the one true God with their whole mind,
body and soul.
Usher in
wholly committed people with pure hearts. Allow men and woman with pure
intentions that cannot be bought, sold or seduced by the spirit of greed to sit
in high leadership positions.
Place
uncompromising men and woman of God in influential places and establish their
feet to stand firm during times of testing. Let the refining fires of testing
make them stronger, wiser and more vigilant, not weaker.
Seat
these faithful people of God in the high places of the government systems, the
church, city, state and nation.
Lord,
fill your churches with the power of God. This can only happen if every person
who is struggling with the spirit of bitterness or offense give up those
demonic ties for you.
Fill your
people with the love of Jesus. If we have the love of Jesus, we will be
separated and sanctified from the world. Give us the supernatural power to
forgive and love just like Christ did.
Open the
gates of this city and let it be restored and repaired through the blessing of
the church, so you get all the honor and credit, Lord.
In the
name of Jesus, release the spirit of Elijah upon our generation.
Let our
lives be so filled with healing and the power of God that the gates of hell
will not be able to prevail us. Allow our hearts to unite, no matter
where we are placed on this earth.
Open the
doors for those who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and who are washed in
the blood to be blessed. You can trust these chosen ones with a blessing,
as they will be fruitful and multiply for you.
In Jesus’
precious name, usher in the anointing you promised for the end times
church. We are ready to be blessed and to be a blessing, Amen.”

“God, you were in the beginning, and before.
You will also be in the end, and beyond. As you intended the beginning, you
intend the end. You are I AM, ever present. While all things began from you and
will end in you, at present all holds together in you.
You are Alpha and Omega, beginning and end. You
don’t tell us how things will end. You don’t tell us when. You simply tell us
to live with temporality as our baseline, urgently and intentionally knowing
that one day the end – either by our own death, or by your return – will come /
is coming.
You tell us how to live urgently. In Matthew 25 you warn us we
will be waiting – for a long season – for your culmination. What do
we do while we are waiting? 1) We keep alert and remain prepared with “oil in
our lamps.” 2) We leverage our resources for a great return to deliver to you.
3) We care for the broken and needy because they are your representational
presence until your imminent presence arrives.
Father, the end is coming. We don’t know when
or how; but we trust you. All the while, we are waiting, but not passively,
frantically or fearfully. We wait deliberately. We trust you with our own
endings and we can trust you with the world’s ending. And while we wait, we
work with Jesus!”
